In thish second year project I gave the humble tabletop ventilator fan a radical new design. The Wind Box is composed of a box shaped stainless steel cage which holds a central injection-molded polypropylene mechanism with electric components inside. A metallic gimbal ring allows the ventilator to be aimed up, down, left and right via the joystick-like control consul which protrudes from the front of the device. A potentiometer dial acts as the power switch and controls the speed of the motor and the red button at the front activates the pivoting action.
